The Oshawa Girls Hockey Association, Whitby Girls Hockey Association, and the Whitby Minor Hockey Association have partnered together and made a donation to Lakeridge Health to help support their efforts to combat the COVID-19 pandemic.
The hockey associations, through collections from their tournaments and other initiatives, was able to donate $9,000 to Lakeridge Health to purchase much-needed pieces of personal protective equipment (PPE) items such as N95 masks, gloves, face shields, and googles to protect healthcare workers in the Durham Region.
Many of our volunteers, coaches, benchstaff and hockey parents are healthcare workers, who are risking their lives every day on the frontlines of COVID-19 in healthcare facilities. We appreciate all those who are serving to ensure that our community has access to essential services.
This donation will help protect our local healthcare workers during this pandemic as they focus on providing excellent care to people across the region who require hospital care and treatment.
